The Top 5 WFH And Summer Essential Trends To Add To Your Wardrobe

Naked Cashmere

As more and more companies wait to reopen offices until this Fall or even into 2021, if at all, how we work from home is radically changing our wardrobe needs. Not surprisingly, elevated lounge wear has become the dominant fashion trend during quarantine versus dressing up.

With no signs of this movement slowing down for summer or in the near future, Leslie Gifford, Creative Director/President of Naked Cashmere shared that their sustainable and ethically sourced cashmere direct to consumer business is “up 60% compared to last year with SS20 the strongest season the company has seen in its history.”

Gifford expanded by noting that “matching sets are currently making up about a third of their business.” It apparently started as the brand saw “a surge when stay at home orders first took place” and then “a huge increase in new customers month-to-month since working from home began as part of the quarantine with over 80% of sales from new buyers and over 30% of their website traffic generated from email marketing .” From a business perspective, this type of conversion is a critical boon to lifetime customer value and long-term growth that most direct-to-consumer businesses strive to achieve.

SETactive

Lindsey Carter, CEO/Founder of SETactive with celebrity fans who include Miley Cyrus, Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber to Shay Mitchell added their customers have been living in their sold out unisex SETSweats as the “WFH culture has impacted fashion trends in a huge way. Comfort is key, but there’s still an element of wanting to feel put together so you’re not just in PJs all day. With more people working from home, the demand for transitional pieces is also definitely on the rise. No one wants to feel like they have to change their outfit between Zoom calls, grocery store runs, and at-home workouts.” I can absolutely relate to that including finding it easier to add a workout routine without worrying too much about changing outfits.

According to Gifford five key trends from sets, jumpsuits and overalls, flowy and loose fitting dresses with tassel detailing to simple lightweight tank tops are driving the luxury knitwear market for Naked Cashmere along with other companies who are catering to women working from home.

Other e-tailers should take note as essentials need to be effortless, light, and airy especially as we head into the summer months. Many customers are also apparently loving working from home because they can “run errands while looking super chic in these day and night styles.” Since we can all use a little comfort these days, maybe that’s why these five trends are catching on right now.

Sets. It’s the top look that is resonating with female consumers right now for the cross between … [+] wearing pajamas while delivering an ultra-chic and pulled together.

One of top selling looks for Naked Cashmere and other brands this summer is the bike short trend.

Trend #4: Sporty Shorts And Joggers. Bike shorts are always a summer staple but they have a renewed popularity this season in cotton-cashmere styles as they are the perfect wardrobe staple with a twist to wear for morning workout routines, ZOOM meetings, and all the way through to date night with a fabulous heel.

The tank is the best staple piece that everyone needs for their closet year round.

Trend #5: The Tank. The perfect staple and one of the biggest trends this season is the tank top as women have been ditching their tees for tanks. Perfect for layering, it’s turned into a fresh, sophisticated refresh with racerback and high crew neckline silhouettes in form-fitting designs for a sleek finish to any outfit.
